Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
Jason Dubois hit three home runs as the Albuquerque Isotopes were defeated 13-1 by the Iowa Cubs on Friday night in front of 6,542 fans at Isotopes Park.
Dubois launched a three-run homer in the first inning, another three-run shot in the third, and a solo shot as part of back-to-back homers off Juan Alvarez in the fourth inning. He is the first opponent to ever hit three homers in a game versus Albuquerque and ninth to record a multi-homer game in the Isotopes brief history. Scott Sanders (1-2) took the loss, allowing nine runs in 3.2 innings.
The game was decided early as Iowa scored four runs off Sanders in the first inning. The Isotopes scored their only run in the bottom of the first using four walks and a wild pitch, but leaving the bases loaded. Dubois's second homer made the score 7-1 in the third. In the fourth inning, David Kelton took Juan Alvarez's second pitch of the game deep for a grand slam, increasing the score to 11-1. Dubois followed with number three to complete the five-run fourth inning.
The Isotopes (11-11) have lost the first two games of the series to Iowa (13-9) and four in a row overall. Game three of four is tomorrow night, beginning at 7:11 PM. Mike Nannini (1-0) will make his fifth start.
