Albuquerque could not hold a ninth inning lead for the second consecutive night in losing to Omaha 5-4 in front of 11,153 fans on Monday night at Isotopes Park.

One night after losing a four-run ninth inning lead, the Isotopes took a 4-3 lead into the last frame, only to see Omaha take it away and win the series three games to one. After a wild pitch moved both runners over, Brent Abernathy followed with a two run double and the 5-4 lead. The Isotopes went 1-2-3 in the ninth, losing for the sixth time in eight games.

Matt Erickson gave Scott Sanders and the Isotopes an early lead in the third, driving in two runs with a bases loaded single with two outs. Albuquerque went up 3-0 in the fourth on a Jason Wood RBI single, driving in Wilson Valdez. The lead grew to four in the fifth as Chris Donnels drove in Derek Wathan with a two-out single. Omaha got on the board in the sixth on a two-run homer by Mike Keely off Sanders. Sanders received a no-decision in his first start since returning from the disabled list.
