
Tomkins Recalled by Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs today announced they have recalled goaltender Matt Tomkins from their ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel.
Tomkins, 23, has combined to post a record of 11-9-2 with a 3.47 GAA and .912 save percentage in 25 ECHL games with the Fuel this season. He has made 30 or more saves in four of his last five appearances while helping Indy earn at least a point in each of those four games. Overall, Tomkins ranks tied for seventh among ECHL rookie goaltenders in save percentage.
The Edmonton, Alberta native returns to the IceHogs where has a compiled a 1-3-2-0 record with a 4.03 GAA and .869 save percentage in seven AHL appearances. He made his AHL debut with 25 saves on Dec. 30 at Chicago, and after leading Rockford to points in back-to-back starts on Jan. 7 and Jan. 13, earned his first AHL win with 32 saves on Jan. 19 at Cleveland.
Tomkins was originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the seventh round (199th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.

The IceHogs host Hawaiian Night as they take on the San Jose Barracuda at 6 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The event will feature tropical-themed jerseys, live Hawaiian music, a luau with hula dancers, pig roast and orange hibiscus flowers imprinted on the ice.
