Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hall-of-Famer and long-time Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda is scheduled to appear at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville this weekend to evaluate this year's Jacksonville Suns team.

Lasorda, Senior Vice President of the Dodgers, frequently travels to the Dodgers' minor league teams to scout talent and review the future of the franchise.

"It's always exciting when Tommy comes to town," Suns General Manager Peter Bragan, Jr. said. "He and my uncle Bobby (Bragan) played together on an Army baseball team back in the 1940's, so we've always had a connection and having him visit the new ballpark is great for us and for our fans."

The first-place Suns return home on Friday, April 23 for an eight-game homestand against the defending Southern League Champion Carolina Mudcats and Mobile BayBears. The team is currently undefeated at home this season, sweeping all seven games of its first homestand in April.

Tickets for all eight days are still available at the Suns box office, over the phone at (904) 358-2846 or online at www.jaxsuns.com.
