Walleye Notes
- Past Week Performance! Toledo collected its lone point of the week Thursday night in Wheeling. After erasing a two goal deficit, Toledo fell 3-2 in a shootout. The Walleye were unsuccessful in their return to the Huntington Center, losing to the Fort Wayne Komets 4-3 on Friday night. On Saturday, the Evansville IceMen power play scored twice to defeat the Walleye 4-1.
- Shorthanded Fun! Toledo scored its third shorthanded goal of the season on Friday night against Fort Wayne. The Walleye are tied with Trenton, Idaho and Colorado for the most shorthanded goals of the year. Toledo scored just four shorthanded goals in all of last season.
- Streaks Snapped! Forwards Randy Rowe and Luke Glendening each had point streak snapped on Saturday. Rowe had 3 goals and 2 assists in the five previous games. Glendening had 3 goals and 2 assists in the four prior games.
- Gametime! Toledo will face a busy week with four games coming in five days. The Fort Wayne Komets will invade Toledo on Wednesday. The Komets beat Toledo 4-3 last Friday night. Friday and Saturday is a home at home with the Wheeling Nailers. The Nailers got the better of Toledo in the first meeting 3-2 in a shootout. Sunday will feature the South Carolina Stingrays in town. Toledo holds an all-time record of 1-12-1 against the Stingrays.
- Promotions! Wednesday is School Appreciation Day with a special start time of 10:35 in the morning. Saturday kicks of the Patriot Games Festivities featuring a special double header with the Battle of the Badges game at 3:00 p.m. pitting the Toledo Police against the Toledo Firemen. The fun continues Saturday night with the Walleye wearing Special Captain America Jerseys! The first 1,500 fans into the Huntington Center that night will receive a Captain America Frisbee! Sunday is Veterans Appreciation Day and Sunday Fun Day with the Walleye featuring a Post-Game Skate!
