Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators posted three wins last week over Orlando on Thursday, Elmira on Saturday and South Carolina on Sunday to move into first place in the ECHL's South Division and first place in the Eastern Conference. Gwinnett is on a four game winning streak dating back to October 28th. The Gladiators have posted a 7-3-1-0 record and 15 points this season.

Orlando Preview: In the first ever meeting between these two teams, Gwinnett dominated the Solar Bears with a 4-1 win at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. The Orlando Solar Bears are currently third in the South Division with a 5-3-1-1 record and fifth in the Eastern Conference. The Solar Bears are led by ECHL's top scorer Nick Peterson who has 17 points this season and goalie John Curry who has a 0.908 save percent. The Solar Bears last four games have been on the road where they have won two of four games.

Saturday, 11/10: Game @Florida - @ 7:00 p.m.
Game Preview: This will be the first meeting between the two teams at the Germain Arena and of the season. Gwinnett posted a 9-4-2-0 record against the Everblades last season. Florida is currently ranked fifth in the South Division and eleventh in the Eastern Conference.

Thursday November 1: Gwinnett 4, Orlando 1 - W
"ªThe Gwinnett Gladiators defeated the Orlando Solar Bears 4-1 in the first meeting of the season between the two squads. Kyle Lawson scored the game's first goal and his first goal of the season. Nick Peterson scored for Orlando to tie the game at one, but Evan Bloodoff's third goal of the season 2:51 in to the third period proved to be the game-winner for Gwinnett.
Saturday November 3: Gwinnett 3, Elmira 1 - W
The Elmira Jackals fell to the Gwinnett Gladiators 3-1 in their only meeting of the season. Casey Pierro-Zabotel scored the first goal of the game for the Gladiators picking up his third goal of the season. Pierro-Zabotel's second goal of the game 8:23 into the second period stood as the winner. Jack Downing put the Jackals on the board late in the third to end Mike Lee's shutout bid.
Sunday November 4: Gwinnett 3, South Carolina 2 - W
The Gladiators earned a victory against the South Carolina Stingrays in their second meeting of the season after being defeated in the season opener. Forward Dallas Jackson scored the first goal of the game for Gwinnett on the power play picking up his second goal of the season. Evan Bloodoff scored the game-winning goal for the Gladiators. Hunter Bishop scored the last two goals of the game for South Carolina to cut into a 3-0 Gladiators lead.
News & Notes:
Helping Hand: Gladiators forward Casey Pierro-Zabotel has earned 13 assists on the season to lead the Gladiators in that category. His 13 assists ranks second in the ECHL this season. Pierro-Zabotel notched a career best 29 assists in the 2009-10 season with the Wheeling Nailers.
Rookie of the Month: Gladiators rookie forward Doug Jones notched 10 points in the month of October and was named the ECHL Rookie of the Month. In his first full season out of Dartmouth University, he tallied five goals and five assists including one power play goal and one game-winning goal for Gwinnett in the month to earn the award.
Three in a Row! Casey Pierro-Zabotel and Evan Bloodoff have each earned at least one point for Gwinnett in each of the past four games, the longest current ongoing streaks for Gwinnett. Pierro-Zabotel has earned eight points (2g, 6a) while Bloodoff has recorded five points (2g, 3a). Both players have matched Pierro-Zabotel's season high four game point-scoring steak set from October 28th through November 5th.
Sin Bin! Gladiators forward Chris Clackson has earned a team high 51 penalty minutes on the season, which ranks second in the ECHL. Clackson had a season high 25 in the Gladiators 4-2 win over Fort Wayne on October 26th.
Turnaround: The Gladiators started the season with just one point in the first three games as the team posted an 0-2-1-0 record. Since that time, the Gladaitors have gone 7-1-0-0 over their last eight games.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
