Stingrays Forward Daniel Koger Joins Hungarian National Team

South Carolina Stingrays News Release


Stingrays forward Daniel Koger (@KogerDaniel21) will miss most the team's upcoming Midwest road trip to return to Hungary and join the men's national team for an Olympic pre-qualification tournament in Budapest, Hungary on November 9-11 in preparation for the 2014 Olympic tournament.

Team Hungary (ranked 19th) is competing in Group G of the pre-qualification tournament and will face Lithuania (25th) on Friday, Croatia (30th) on Saturday and the Netherlands (24th) on Sunday. If Team Hungary wins their group, they will move on to the final Olympic qualification tournament February 7-10. Koger can return to the Stingrays as early as November 13 for their 10:30 a.m. game at Cincinnati. Koger is joined on the team by ECHL goaltender Zoltan Hetenyi (Cincinnati). Koger will wear jersey #61.
