Frisco RoughRider Doug Mathis has been named the Texas League Pitcher of the Week for May 7-13 announced by the Texas League office on Monday May 14.
During that span, he had one start as he earned the win against Corpus Christi on May 9 at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Mathis had a brilliant performance as he surrendered only one hit in his seven shutout innings. He also struck out four and lowered his ERA to 1.40 (4 ER/19 IP) in the process.
Mathis is now 3-1 on the year for the 'Riders after starting the season at Triple-A Oklahoma City.
