Trenton Devils News Release

PEORIA, IL (March 9, 2004) – It was a milestone night for Scott Bertoli as he tallied his 300th and 301st points on two goals scored :18 apart in the second period to help the Trenton Titans claw back from a 2-0 deficit. There was barely enough time to appreciate the feat as Scott Crawford would give Peoria the lead once again :28 later as the Rivermen skated to a 5-3 win in front of 3,699 at Carver Arena.

Up 3-2 in the second period, Jason Norrie extended Peoria's lead to two with his second goal of the evening. Matt Zultek would keep it interesting with his 16th power play goal – tying him with Mark Pederson of San Diego for the ECHL lead - in the third period that made the score 4-3 in favor of the Rivermen. Colin Hemingway put the game away with 1:58 left with his third goal in two nights against the Titans.

Titans goaltender Chris Hould made 33 saves in the loss as Peoria extended their winning streak to seven games. With the Reading Royals' loss to the Wheeling Nailers tonight, the Titans remain six points out of the fifth final playoff spot in the Northern Division. The Trenton Titans are a member of the ECHL – America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Trenton Titans play at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ. The Titans conclude their road trip with three games in three days this weekend. Trenton starts it off with two games against the Dayton Bombers on Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13. The puck drops for both games at 7:00pm.
