Titans, Allen, Shutout Nailers, 3-0

TRENTON, NJ – The Trenton Titans, led by Andrew Allen, shutout the Wheeling Nailers, 3-0, in front of 5,693 fans at Sovereign Bank Arena.

Jeff Smith gave the Titans an early lead when he deflected a Rosario Ruggeri slapshot past Wheeling goalie Andy Chiodo. The goal, scored at 6:32 in the first period, turned out to be the game-winner.

Cockburn extended the Titans lead to 2-0 when he tallied his 9th goal of the year, and second point of the night, at 12:15 in the first.

Trenton's final goal came off the stick of Deschenes early in the second period, when he collected a Scott Bertoli rebound and wristed it past Chiodo for his 18th goal of the season.

Allen turned away thirty-six Nailers shots for his second shutout of the season. The Titans' goalie now has 19 wins on the year. Trenton was 2-for-5 on the power play and 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.
