ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (April 17, 2005) – The Trenton Titans used overtime once again in a 4-3 victory against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies in front of 1,992 at Boardwalk Hall.

Nick Deschenes notched the game-winner at 11:59 of the first overtime as Scott Bertoli forced a turnover in the Bullies' zone and found his linemate alone in front of the net.

Trenton looked as if they would skate away with this one early when Rick Kowalsky gave the Titans a 1-0 lead just 1:01 into the contest. With Dustan Heintz in the penalty box for charging, Kowalsky found a loose puck in front of the net and put it past Trevor Koenig for his first goal of the postseason. Brent Robinson assisted on the play extending his scoring streak to twelve games.

The Titans would again use the power play to take a 2-0 lead as Scott Bertoli poke-checked a bouncing puck past Koenig and into the net at 13:12 of the stanza.

Jason Notermann helped the Bullies cut the edge back to one with his second of the series at 16:20 of the first period.

Notermann, who ranked second in the league in power play goals, then used the man-advantage to tie the score 2-2 as he put the rebound from a Brian Fahey slapshot past Andrew Allen at 9:48 of the second period.

Trenton regained the lead once again when Michael Schutte intercepted the puck at the Atlantic City blueline and fired a shot the beat Koenig just :54 into the third period. It was the Titans' third power play goal of the game.

It was yet another goal on the man-advantage that helped Atlantic City knot the score later in the period, when Shawn Mather beat Allen at 11:59 of the third.

Allen turned away 36 of 39 shots for his seventh consecutive win, including the regular season. Koenig stopped 32 of 36 in suffering the loss.

The Titans were 3-for-7 on the power play and 3-for-5 on the penalty kill.

The Titans will begin the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs on Friday, April 22 against the Reading Royals at the Sovereign Center or versus the Toledo Storm at Sovereign Bank Arena.
