Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips battled hard to steal a point from the Wenatchee Wild, falling 4-3 in overtime at Angel of the Winds Arena Friday night.

Newly-minted co-captain Ben Hemmerling opened the scoring for Everett 1:54 into play, batting an airborne puck in for his fourth of the season. Wenatchee responded at 14:12 in the first as Luka Shcherbyna converted a one-timer to even the score heading into the first intermission.

Miles Cooper gave Wenatchee the lead at 5:19 in the second period, as a wonky bounce on a pass along the kickplate in the Silvertips' zone set the puck right in front of a vacated Everett net for a 2-1 Wild lead. Conor Geekie scored a 5-on-3 powerplay goal with 48 seconds remaining in the second period to extend Wenatchee's lead. Everett trailed by two heading into the second intermission despite outshooting the Wild 25-5 in the second period alone.

Austin Roest halved the deficit for Everett at 7:31, banging a rebound home for his sixth of the season. With the net empty and six forwards on, Teague Patton knotted the game at three with just 15.8 seconds remaining in regulation time, sending the game into overtime.

Kenta Isogai cashed in on a breakaway 36 seconds into the extra frame to seal a 4-3 win for the Wild. Daniel Hauser stopped 46 of 49 in the win. Tyler Palmer turned aside 22 of 25 in the loss.

Everett now turns their attention to the Spokane Chiefs, as they head to Veterans Memorial Arena for a 6:05 p.m. puck drop Saturday night. The Tips will play their next five games on the road, swinging through the Central Division next week.
