
Chiefs Explode for Season-High 8 Goals Behind Roulette's Six-Point Outburst

Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs returned home Friday night to face Kelowna after a three game road swing, in front of xxx enthusiastic Chiefs fans. Before the game, Spokane Chiefs forward Berkly Catton was honored for his involvement in the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup (where he won Gold as the Captain for Team Canada. Catton led the tournament in both goals (8) and points (10) and scored in every game.
Once the puck dropped in Spokane on Friday night, the first period did not waste any time before the action kicked off.
It was Cole Wadsworth who picked up the loose puck in front of the Kelowna goal and picked out the top shelf with an absolute rocket at just 3:13.
Later in the period it was Conner Roulette who continued his blistering hot streak with a pair of goals in quick succession. Cheveldayoff assisted on both goals while Crampton assisted the first and Catton assisted the second.
The Rockets would pull one back through Ty Hurley's first of the season and the teams would hit the locker rooms with the score 3-1 in favor of Spokane. It was a chippy first period with eight total penalties called including two sets of fighting majors.
Ty Cheveldayoff came out of the break ready to rock with a goal just 24 seconds into the second period.
Cheveldayoff notched his second of the season after cleaning up the loose change in front of net. Crampton and Roulette assisted on the play.
Rockets' star Andrew Cristall was next on the board with his 9th of the season and first of the game.
Berkly Catton made it five with an incredible goal at 8:37, his seventh of the year so far. Roulette added his second assist of the night along with rookie Owen Schoettler.
Kelowna would go on a run through the rest of the second period before ultimately tying the game with just 1 second left in the frame. Cristall would record three goals and former Chief Michael Cicek finished the night with two assists.
It was a tense opening to the third period with both teams pushing for a winner. Conner Roulette would net his hat trick at 13:33 of the third with a laser that hit the net before the Kelowna goaltender could react.
Roulette added an insurance goal that found the empty net to record his 6th (!) point of the game at 18:37 and Layton Feist chipped in with an empty net long range goal with less than a minute to go.
Cooper Michaluk recorded 29 saves in the game, including several massive stops to keep it tied in the third period. In total there were 24 penalties called with 12 against each team.
Roulette: 6 Points (4G, 2A). 8 goals, 3 assists in the last four games.
Cheveldayoff: 3 Points (1G, 2A). 4 points in the last 3 games.
Crampton: 3 Points (3A). 5 assists in the last 3 games.
Catton: 2 Points (1G, 1A). 5 points in the last 3 games and has registered at least a point in every game this season except one.
