Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Kailer Yamamoto scored a goal and added three assists to help the Spokane Chiefs in a wire-to-wire effort, 4-1 over the Everett Silvertips before 3,519 fans at XFINITY Arena on Wednesday in WHL action.

While the Silvertips lost in regulation, their kept a share of the U.S. Division lead after the Kamloops Blazers defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds, 4-3 in overtime in Kamloops. The Silvertips have 10 games remaining and three on home ice to close the regular season in the chase for a U.S. Division banner.

Jaret Anderson-Dolan's backhander at the front of the net put Spokane up 1-0, a power play goal with 8:43 to go in the first period. The Silvertips were outshot 12-4 in the second period, struggling to maintain a rhythm at five-on-five despite killing two penalties.

Spokane took advantage of extended time in the offensive zone and Anderson-Dolan fed Yamamoto at the base of the right circle, for his 36th goal of the year at 17:20 of the second period.

A frustrating string of penalties continued to stall the Silvertips, along with the loss of assistant coach Mitch Love from the bench for a game misconduct. Keanu Yamamoto buried the five-on-three goal from between the circles at 1:13, but the Silvertips finally answered on their second of back-to-back two-man advantage opportunities.

Matt Fonteyne whipped a shot off Jayden Sittler, and Riley Sutter stashed the rebound at the base of the left circle at 13:35 of the third to get the Tips on the board. But after the Tips pulled Hart early for a sixth attacker and earned extended offensive zone time, Riley Woods buried an empty netter with 2:26 left in regulation for the 4-1 edge.

Hart took the loss with 29 saves.
