The Hitmen trailed 3-0 in the second period but pushed back on goals from Jake Kryski, Matteo Gennaro and Brady Reagan.

Calgary outshot Moose Jaw 36-28 and remain two points ahead of the Saskatoon Blades for the final Western Hockey League Eastern Conference Wild Card spot. Both the Hitmen and Blades have nine games remaining in the regular season.

The Hitmen, 24-29-8-2, continue their three-game East Division road trip on Friday, Mar. 3, in Brandon against the Wheat Kings. The swing will also take them to Regina (Mar. 4).

Calgary then returns to the Scotiabank Saddledome next Wednesday, Mar. 8, to host the Saskatoon Blades. That night the Hitmen will honour Andrew Ladd for the contributions he has made to the organization as a player and person when a `Forever A Hitmen' banner for Ladd will be hoisted and remain on permanent display at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The game is presented by Tim Hortons. Ladd, who will be in attendance for the ceremony, will become the second inductee of the `Forever A Hitmen' program, joining Ryan Getzlaf who was recognized on January 18, 2015. In honour of the number 19 Ladd wore in Calgary, fans will be able to join the celebration for a special ticket price of $9.19 (plus applicable fees).
