LAST NIGHT: The TinCaps ended a 3-game skid with a 3-1 win.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY: On this day 2 years ago the TinCaps hosted a spontaneous "Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz Night." The show's executive producer Michael Ryan Ruiz flew up from Miami to be there as hundreds of fans of the program flocked to Parkview Field. To make it even more epic, the TinCaps overcame an 11-3 deficit against the Peoria Chiefs to win 12-11. Ethan Skender scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth on a double-steal.

MiLB RELIEF: After losing the entirety of the 2020 Minor League Baseball season and having attendance limited to begin 2021, the TinCaps are asking fans to visit MinorLeagueBaseballRelief.com and tell Congress to support the Minor League Baseball Relief Act.

PATIENT APPROACH: The TinCaps lead the High-A Central East Division in free passes (walks and hit by pitches), averaging about 5 per game. Fort Wayne is walking in 14% of its plate appearances. The rest of the league has walked at a 10% rate. For further context, the Dodgers and Yankees lead MLB in BB% at 10.7%. The Padres rank 3rd (10.2%).

DOUBLES LEADER: Outfielder Tirso Ornelas leads the HAC in doubles with 21. As a team, the TinCaps lead the league with 119.

GIVIN TAKE: Through 12 games, infielder Chris Givin has walked 8 times. That's 15% of his plate appearances. However, when putting the ball in play, he's had some tough luck with a BABIP (batting average on balls in play) of just .179. An average BABIP is about .300.

LITTLE IMPROVEMENT: Outfielder Grant Little has a .357 OBP. (The average OBP in the HAC is .332.) At the Low-A level in 2019, Little had a .338 OBP.)

RANKING RUIZ: Outfielder Agustin Ruiz ranks 8th in the HAC in RBIs (40) and 9th in HR (10).

JONNY ON THE SPOT: Jonny Homza is DH-ing tonight - his first action since leaving Tuesday's game after one at-bat. Homza ranks 9th in the league in doubles (13) and 10th in runs (42).

JUSTIN TIME: Infielder Justin Lopez ranks 7th in the league in doubles (14). Lopez has improved month-to-month this season. In 14 games in July, he's slashing .280 / .362 (.942 OPS) with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 3 homers, and 11 RBIs.

POWER SURGE: First baseman Seamus Curran had just 4 extra-base hits (all doubles) and 8 RBIs in his first 19 games as a TinCap. In 11 games this month, Curran has 2 doubles, 3 homers, and 9 RBIs.

KERNER CATCHING: In 2020, Baseball America ranked Adam Kerner as the 4th best non-drafted free agent signing. Kerner has been praised for his defensive ability. Meanwhile, over his last 6 games, Kerner has drawn 8 walks and only struck out 4 times. Kerner has walked at 16% rate this season, that's the 6th highest BB% among all players in the league with 100-plus plate appearances.

GLOVE LOVE: After making a great running/jumping catch on the warning track in center field against Wenceel Perez on Tuesday night, Jawuan Harris tweeted after, "Gotta catch 'em all like I'm playing Pokémon" with a laughing-face emoji.

CLOSE CALLS: The TinCaps are 11-5 in games decided by 1 run, while they're 4-6 in 2-run games... The 'Caps are 2-1 in extra-innings.

260 TO THE SHOW: 52 former Fort Wayne players have appeared in the big leagues so far this season, including All-Stars Fernando Tatis Jr. and Trea Turner. Since the franchise was founded in 1993, a total of 197 past players have ascended to The Show.
