Fort Wayne TinCaps (10-14) vs. Beloit Snappers (9-9)

RHP Mason Thompson vs. RHP Bryce Conley

Tuesday, May 1 - Parkview Field - First Pitch 7:05 p.m. (Game 25)

Watch: Comcast Network 81

LISTEN: ESPN Radio 1380 & 100.9 FM / TinCapsRadio.com / TuneIn

SUNDAY AFTERNOON: The TinCaps were unable to complete a sweep of the Dayton Dragons, falling, 4-3. Fort Wayne struck first with a run in the first, but Dayton tied the game in the second and put up 3 in the sixth. The 'Caps rallied with a pair in the sixth yet couldn't get level. The Dragons ended an 8-game skid.

NEW UNIFORMS: Tonight the TinCaps are debuting new home white uniforms. This is the first time the team has changed its home uniform since moving into Parkview Field and rebranding from the Wizards to the TinCaps in 2009. The new-look whites no longer have green pinstripes. The jerseys still have a white base, TinCaps across the chest in the same style, and green sleeves with the apple logo on the right sleeve. The jerseys have green piping. Also, the font for numbers has become more readable. The team will be wearing a new style cap, too, that features the same apple logo, green bill, and green back, but now a white front.

ROAD TRIP RECAP: The TinCaps went 4-3 after splitting a 4-gamer at Great Lakes and then took 2 out of 3 at Dayton.

TRENDING UP: The TinCaps have won 6 of their last 9. Fort Wayne is 10-8 since beginning the year 0-6. The 'Caps are 3-0-1 over their last 4 series.

ALMOST HAD 'EM: The TinCaps have led in 9 of their 14 losses.

ROSARIOHHH: Outfielder Jeisson Rosario, who's the 4th youngest player in the Midwest League, is 4th in the MWL in BB% (23%). His 20 walks are the 4th most in the league. His .477 OBP is 5th. Meanwhile, he's only struck out 15 times, so his 1.33 BB/K is tied for 5th best. And when Rosario has put the ball into play, he's hit a line drive 31% of the time - 3rd highest in the league - compared to hitting a fly ball or ground ball. According to FanGraphs, "batters who hit a lot of line drives typically perform better than hitters who hit lots of fly balls or ground balls." And when Rosario is on base, he's a threat to run. He's 6-for-6 in stolen base bids. That ties him for 10th most in the MWL.

STREAKING: Catcher Juan Fernandez is on a 15-game on-base streak. His 12-game hitting streak ended Sunday. Fernandez has reached base in every game he's had a plate appearance. He's hit safely in all but 2. His on-base streak is tied for 7th longest in the MWLso far this year while his hitting streak was 2nd longest.

BULLPEN IMPROVEMENT: Since last April 22, TinCaps relievers have allowed only 7 runs (all earned) in their last 30.0 innings. That works out to a 2.10 ERA. Fort Wayne's bullpen ERA was 7.73 through its first 16 games.

GIVING BACK: Prior to Saturday's game in Dayton, pitchers Nick Margevicius, Jared Carkuff, Ben Sheckler, Aaron Leasher, Travis Radke, Adrian Martinez, and Caleb Boushley signed autographs for a Dayton-area little league team that is named after the TinCaps. Players even played catch with the kids on the field and posed for photos.

YOUNGEST TEAM IN MiLB: The TinCaps feature the 4 youngest players in the league: Justin Lopez (17), Tirso Ornelas (18), Gabriel Arias (18), and Jeisson Rosario. Fort Wayne presently has 10 teenagers on its roster. According to Baseball America, the average age for a TinCaps player to start the year was 20.6. (The average age in the Midwest League was 22 years old.) This theme continues up the ladder for the Padres, who also have the youngest team in the California League (High-A Lake Elsinore) and the Texas League (Double-A San Antonio).

HOMESTAND HIGHLIGHTS: Wednesday - Reading Program Day... Thirsty Thursday... Friday - Star Wars Night (Fireworks)... Saturday - Jake the Diamond Dog (Fireworks)... Sunday - On-Field Postgame Autographs
