Kevin Marnon promoted to Fort Myers

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that LHP Kevin Marnon has been promoted to Fort Myers of the Florida State League. Jeremy Zoll, Twins Director of Minor League Operations, announced the move.

Marnon made five relief appearances for the Kernels this season, posting a 2-0 record, 1.46 ERA and one save. In 12.1 IP, he allowed seven hits and three runs (two earned) with three walks and 14 strikeouts. He was signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent in 2017 out of Ball State University.

A corresponding move was not announced by the Twins. With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at 24 active players, one below the MWL maximum of 25, with five players currently on the DL, one player on the suspended list and one player on the military leave list.

The Kernels return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium tonight at 6:35 PM to host the South Bend Cubs. It's the start of a six-game home stand that continues through Sunday, May 6th. Gates open tonight at 5:30 PM.
