YESTERDAY: The TinCaps coughed up 3 separate leads in a walk-off, 5-4 loss to the Lugnuts in Lansing. Starter Gabe Mosser tossed 7 innings of 1-run ball, allowing just a solo home run with 2 outs in the 7th. The 'Caps started the scoring in the 6th with a Justin Lopez RBI single. Fort Wayne broke a 1-1 tie in the 8th with a pair, including an Agustin Ruiz RBI double. After Lansing equalized in the home 8th, the TinCaps answered in the 9th with a go-ahead Tucupita Marcano single, only to see the Lugnuts plate 2 in their half.
WRECK 'EM: The TinCaps have a pair of Texas Tech alums on the squad in outfielder Grant Little and reliever Jose Quezada. Both are excited for the Red Raiders to be in the men's college basketball national championship game.
FOREVER YOUNG: The average age for a TinCaps position player thus far has been 20.0, the youngest in the Midwest League (league average: 21.1). The average age for a 'Caps pitcher is 21.0, also the youngest in the MWL (league average: 21.9). Fort Wayne has had the most youthful lineup in the circuit each of the previous 5 years going back to 2014. The TinCaps had the youngest pitching staff in the league in 2016 and ranked tied for 2nd youngest in '18, 2nd youngest in '17, '13, and '12. According to Baseball America, Justin Lopez is the 5th youngest player in the league right now at 18.

7 STRONG: Gabe Mosser became the first TinCaps pitcher to go 7 innings in a start on April 7 @ Lansing as he threw 87 pitches (55 strikes). The 22-year-old yielded just 1 run on 3 hits, 0 walks, and 2 hit batters while striking out 6. In 2018, the 'Caps didn't have a starter last 7 innings until Aaron Leasher did it on May 11.
