The TinCaps have won 3 in a row for the first time since April 23-24 at Lansing, which also included sweeping a Saturday night doubleheader... Fort Wayne's only 4-game winning streak of the season came April 16-20 (2 vs. South Bend, 2 @ Lansing).

SERIES ON THE LINE: The TinCaps also would win this series with a victory today. Fort Wayne's only series win of the season at home came against South Bend from April 12-17, when claiming 4 of 6... The 'Caps' other 2 series wins were on the road at Lansing.

JACKSON WOLF: Ranks 9th in the MWL in average against (.230) and WHIP (1.28)... 6th highest K rate (29%, 11.2 per 9)... 8th lowest BB rate (9%, 3.6 per 9)... 7th in K/BB (3.07)... 8th in xFIP (3.98).

FUTURES GAME: Center fielder Robert Hassell III has been selected to play for the National League in MLB's Futures Game, as part of All-Star Saturday on July 16 at Dodger Stadium. He's the 1st player in franchise history to earn an invitation to the showcase while representing Fort Wayne... Hassell leads the MWL in batting average (.310).

MAX FERGUSON: Leads Minor League Baseball in walks (70) and ranks 2nd in stolen bases (53)... As far as walks go, Austin Gauthier with the Dodgers' Single-A affiliate, Rancho Cucamonga, also has 70. Juan Soto of the Nats leads MLB with 71... Another Padres prospect, Esteury Ruiz, a 2018 TinCap, has 59 stolen bags between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso. The current MLB leader is Miami's Jon Berti with 26.

COREY ROSIER: Leads the MWL in runs (58), while ranking 3rd in triples (6), and 5th in stolen bases (24) and walks (47; 16%)... He's swung and missed at only 8% of pitches, the 4th lowest rate in the league... 16-game on-base streak dating back to June 14 ended last Sunday.

CAUGHT 'EM: TinCaps catchers lead the league in throwing out runners trying to steal (30 CS). Individually, Brandon Valenzuela leads with 20, while Anthony Vilar has nabbed 8 of 20, and Adam Kerner has caught 2.

PATIENT: The TinCaps lead the MWL in walks drawn (4.3 per game) and also have struck out the 2nd fewest times in the MWL (8.5 per game).

MISCELLANEOUS: The TinCaps are 27-12 when scoring first (69% win rate) and 5-36 when they don't (12%)... Fort Wayne is 8-10 in 1-run games, 5-10 in 2-run games, and 1-3 in extra-innings.

LONG NIGHT: Thursday's game took 4 hours and 15 minutes. That was the longest game for the TinCaps since a 4 hour and 19-minute game at Great Lakes last Sept. 1 (11 innings). The last time a game went 4 hours and 15 minutes at Parkview Field was April 17, 2017 vs. West Michigan... Thursday was the first time the TinCaps played a game that took more than 12 innings since Minor League Baseball instituted a rule change in 2018 with extra-inning frames beginning with a runner at second base. The team's last 13-inning game was June 6, 2017, also against Lake County.

260 TO THE SHOW: Since Fort Wayne's franchise was established in 1993, there have been 206 alumni who've gone on to appear in the major leagues, including 49 this season... 2014 TinCap Trea Turner of the Dodgers has been elected to start the MLB All-Star Game at shortstop for the NL... 2016 TinCap Ty France of the Mariners finished 2nd among AL first basemen.
