WASHINGTON, D.C. - The WNBA announced today that Washington Mystics center Tina Charles was named Kia WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for games played in the month of June. Charles averaged 24.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. This marks Charles' 12th Player of the Month award, the most by a WNBA player and her first win since August 2017.

Charles became the first player in WNBA history to record consecutive 30 point, 15 rebound games (June 19-June 22) and totaled six games of 25+ points (five consecutive), the most by a player in the month. Charles' five consecutive games of 25 or more points mark the longest streak in franchise history and of her career. The 11-year center also totaled five double-doubles in the month (6/10 vs. LAS, 6/19 vs. IND, 6/22 at SEA, 6/24 at LAS, 6/26 at DAL), the second most double-doubles by a player and the first time since July 2017 that she has recorded five or more in a single month. For the month of June, Charles was the only player to average 20 or more points while shooting at least 45.0% from the field and 40.0% from three-point range [min. 5 GP].
