
Timbers to Hold Player Combine in California

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today announced that the club will conduct a two-day, invite-only player combine January 29-30 at Ventura College in Ventura, Calif., to scout talent for its upcoming debut season in Major League Soccer.
The invite-only combine is open to players 18 years of age or older with collegiate or professional playing experience. To apply, interested players must submit a resume and a combine registration form to the Timbers via email at coachingstaff@portlandtimbers.com by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21. Resumes must include vital statistics, preferred playing position(s), playing history, a reference as well as awards and accolades. The combine registration fee is $150; space in the combine is limited. The registration form is available online at www.portlandtimbers.com.
Combine activities will take place on Ventura College's Sportsplex. The Timbers' invitational combine in Southern California is hosted by the Ventura County Fusion of the Premier Development League.
The combine will feature four training sessions over two days under the watch of technical director/general manager Gavin Wilkinson, head coach John Spencer and the Timbers coaching staff.
A residential option for selected combine participants is available for $350. The residential option includes the registration fee, two nights of hotel accommodations, meals for Saturday and Sunday and transportation between the hotel and training site.
