Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Calgary, Alberta -- The Greyhound Western Hockey League Player of the Week is forward Clarke MacArthur of the Medicine Hat Tigers.
MacArthur earned player of the week honours by recording two goals and five assists and a +2 rating to help the Tigers to a 2-1 record during the week.
The highlight of the week came last Wednesday when the Lloydminster, Alberta native scored once and set up two others in a 5-2 victory over Dean Clark's Blazers in Kamloops.
MacArthur, a third round draft choice of the National Hockey League's Buffalo Sabres, has registered at least a point in each of the Tigers seven games this season and currently leads the league in scoring with four goals and 14 points.
In other league news, the Saskatoon Blades will host the Brandon Wheat Kings Tuesday night in what will be a battle for top spot in the WHL's Eastern Division.
Winners of only seven games last season, the Blades are currently sitting atop the standings with a 4-2-0 record, good for eight points and a one point lead on the second place Wheat Kings, who are currently 3-0-0-1 on the season.
Brandon is coming off Saturday's disappointing 3-2 overtime loss to the Swift Current Broncos.
