Tiger-Cats finalize coaching staff

April 2, 2004 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release

Hamilton Tiger-Cat head coach Greg Marshall has added the final piece to his coaching staff, with the signing of Jerome Erdman, as special teams coach.

Erdman, a Vancouver native, coached the defensive front last season. He spent the 2002 season as defensive back coach of the BC Lions. Prior to that, Erdman was the defensive co-ordinator of the UBC Thunderbirds, and also spent ten years coaching in the British Isles, with the Scottish Claymores of NFL Europe, as well as Team Scotland and Great Britain's National team.

Erdman is a veteran of seven CFL seasons, starting his career in 1983 in Winnipeg, then playing in Ottawa and Edmonton.

Head coach Greg Marshall commented on the addition of Erdman, "he did a great job last year. He's well-respected, an extremely hard worker, and is a good fit with our coaching staff."

Erdman said, "Greg and the coaching staff here are a great bunch of guys. There's an exciting new feeling here in Hamilton and it's great to be a part of it. It's an aggressive, young staff and we want to translate that to success on the field."

Erdman and the rest of the Tiger-Cats take to the field for training camp May 22.
