The Hamilton Tiger-Cats pared their 2002 roster down to the Canadian Football League maximum of 39 this afternoon with the release of the following players: Rome Douglas (OL) Jay Hagood (OL) Jake Roberts (OL) Jamie Elliott (R) Brad Coutts (R) Quinton Spotwood (R) Ken Vermette (RB) Trod Buggs (RB) Haven Fields (LB) Tom Matajacic (DE) Derrick Gardner (DB) Marcus Spencer (DB) Jermaine Romans (DB) Steven Fisher (DB) The 'Cats also placed veteran receiver TONY AKINS on the 30 day injured list. Hamilton will open the regular season SATURDAY, JUNE 29 against the B C Lions at Ivor Wynne Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7:30 pm EDT.
