
Blue Bombers Finalize Roster

WINNIPEG, MB â The Winnipeg Blue Bombers Football Club today announced its opening day lineup for the 2002 CFL season.
The 2002 edition of the club is veteran-laden group. The club's 39-man active roster includes 34 players with CFL experience and five players new to the Canadian professional game.
The five rookies to crack the lineup of the 2001 East Division Champions are wide receiver Antonio Brown, long snapper Jason Congdon, offensive lineman Dan Gyetvai, quarterback Brian Stallworth and defensive tackle Eric Wilson.
For the first time in many years, the Blue Bombers enter opening day with all 26 starters (12 on offence, 12 on defence and two on special teams) being CFL veterans.
The 39 players have interesting characteristics when looked at as a whole. The average Blue Bomber player is 6-1, 226.9 pounds and 29 years, zero months and 14.6 days old. He has played an average of 5.2 years in the CFL and has played an average of 66.9 regular-season, 4.3 playoff and 1.2 Grey Cup games in the league.
The oldest player is punter Bob Cameron, who will be 47 years, 11 months and 10 days old on June 28, 2002 â the date of the club's home opener versus the Toronto Argonauts.
The youngest player is quarterback Brian Stallworth, who will be 22 years, eight months and 23 days old on opening day.
