Tickets for 2014 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Final at PPL Park Now on Sale

Chester, Pa. (August 15, 2014) - Tickets for the 2014 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Final at PPL Park featuring Philadelphia Union and the Seattle Sounders are now on sale. The match will take place on Tuesday, September 16 at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on GolTV.

Philadelphia, making its first appearance in a U.S. Open Cup Final and seeking its first ever trophy, defeated FC Dallas 4-3 in a penalty kick shootout on Tuesday. Seattle featuring U.S. Men's National Team stars Clint Dempsey and DeAndre Yedlin, is in search of its fourth crown and heading to its fifth U.S. Open Cup Final after defeating the Chicago Fire, 6-0, on Wednesday night. Sounders FC won the event in three consecutive years (2009-11) and were runners-up in 2012.

The Union won the right to host the championship match of the 101st edition of the Open Cup following a coin flip conducted by U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati that took place in Portland during MLS All-Star Week. Midfielder Maurice Edu represented the Union against representatives from the Sounders, the Chicago Fire and FC Dallas.

Tickets, which range in price from $27-$65, can be purchased by visiting COMCASTTIX.com or by calling 1-800-298-4200. Though the game is not included in the season ticket package, season ticket holders can purchase as many tickets as are on their account at a reduced rate. For those season ticket holders wishing to purchase additional seats, they will receive a $5 discount off of the general public price. Parking is $10 for season ticket holders with their ST card and $20 for the general public.

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, recognized as U.S. Soccer's National Club Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. The tournament has crowned a champion for 100 consecutive years dating back to 1914. This year's winner will earn $250,000, a berth in the 2015-16 CONCACAF Champions' League and have its name engraved on the historic Dewar Challenge Trophy, one of the oldest nationally contested trophies in American team sports. The runner-up will take home $60,000. In 1999, the competition was renamed to honor American soccer pioneer Lamar Hunt.
