Seattle Storm News Release
SEATTLE, Sunday, May 18, 2008 - Coming off of the largest opening-night crowd in Seattle Storm history on Saturday night, the team announced today that tickets remain for Tuesday's nationally televised game against the Sacramento Monarchs. The game, carried on ESPN2, will be the first of four national television Storm games aired this season. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a limited-edition Storm Preparedness T-shirt.
"We are incredibly privileged to have the opportunity to showcase the Storm to a national audience on ESPN2," said Storm CEO Karen Bryant. "This is another chance to remind the nation that Seattle has the best fans in the WNBA."
Storm newcomer Yolanda Griffith will face her former Monarch teammates during Tuesday's matchup. This will also be the last opportunity for fans to see the Storm in action at KeyArena before they return from the road on Friday, May 30. During the Storm's first road trip, fans can tune into ABC on Saturday, May 24 at 12:30 p.m. PT to watch the Storm take on San Antonio Silver Stars.
Last week the WNBA announced a new league marketing partnership that made McDonald's the presenting partner of WNBA's tipoff week through May 24. On Tuesday vs. Sacramento, the restaurant's logo will appear throughout KeyArena on the court, pole pads, team chair backs and on the Storm jerseys.
Tuesday's game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. Tickets are available at Storm.wnba.com or by calling 877-WNBA-TIX.
