Hamilton, Ontario -- The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are excited to announce that import defensive end Andy Petek and import defensive tackle Reggie Hargrove have come to terms on new contracts with the club. Petek inked a two-year (plus an option) contract, while Hargrove signed a one-year (plus an option) deal.

Petek, a 6'2", 230-pound native of Helena Montana has spent the past two years with the Billings Outlaws of the National Indoor Football League. Before joining the NIFL, Petek played for the Rhein Main Razorbacks of the German Football league.

Prior to beginning his professional football career, Petek played four seasons with the University of Montana Grizzlies where he played 41 games and recorded 164 total tackles and 29 quarterback sacks, the second most in school history. In 2000, his senior year, Petek set an NCAA Division 1-AA record with 20 quarterback sacks and was named the Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He also received All-American and All-Big Sky Conference first team selections for his efforts.

Aside from his football accomplishments, Petek also boasts a 14-0 record on the Montana Boxing Circuit. The 27 year-old recently won a boxing tournament, which will be the subject of a documentary entitled "Butte: The Making of a Heavyweight Contender."

Hargrove, a defensive lineman from Durham, North Carolina, attended the B.C. Lions training camp in 2004 and was on the Calgary Stampeders practice roster in 2002. Prior to joining the CFL, Hargrove had two stints in the NFL with the St. Louis Rams (2003) and Seattle Seahawks (2002). He has also played with the Chicago Rush (AFL), Louisville Fire (AF2) and the Amsterdam Admirals (NFL-Europe). His latest stop was in Las Vegas, where he attended the training camp of the Arena Football League's Gladiators in January of this year.
