OTTAWA – The Ottawa Renegades Football Club will be holding the finals for the 2005 Molson Canadian Light Dance Team on Friday night, April 15, 2005 at Bayshore Shopping Mall. Open to the public, the event will determine which young women aged 19-35, will make up the squad for the upcoming season.

The finals start at 6 p.m.

"We are looking for individuals that possess dance skills, however being a member of this team requires much more than dance ability. We want mature, responsible, intelligent young women who have strong communication skills and are interested in becoming an integral part of the Ottawa community," said Natalie O'Byrne, Choreographer of the 2005 Molson Canadian Light Ottawa Renegades Dance Team. "Performing for thousands of people, attending city-wide promotional events, being part of an awesome team of young women, and having tons of fun are all part of being our squad."

Celebrity judges, comprised of Renegades players and various media personalities from throughout Ottawa, will be voting for the 28-member final dance team roster. Receivers Pat Woodcock and David Azzi will also be signing autographs at the mall for an hour, beginning at 5 p.m. The co-masters of ceremonies for the event will be Renegades offensive lineman Mike Sutherland and Team 1200's Steve Warne.

At the conclusion of the tryouts, the new 2005 Molson Canadian Light Ottawa Renegades Dance Team will be unveiled to the public at the mall.

"We want experienced dancers who possess a positive attitude and are excited at the prospect of becoming an ambassador for Ottawa's football team," added O'Byrne.
