Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release

Hamilton, Ontario - On Saturday, September 6th, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats will battle their feline foes the BC Lions at Ivor Wynne Stadium on Family Day where the first 5,000 fans through the gate will receive a Stripes bobblehead.

For Hamilton Tiger-Cats Family Day, the Ticats have also teamed up with OWL Magazine to spread the importance of literacy through TigerTown and all over Canada. The first 5,000 children to arrive at the game will be able to take home their very own September issue of OWL Magazine with their favourite CFL team featured on the inside cover! Kids will be able to participate in hands-on games, learn new jokes with Stripes and also discover some interesting facts about Stripes' family.

At halftime, the fan drawn in the Ticats Kick For 5K Contest, will attempt a 40-yard field goal for a chance to win $5,000. In addition, 16 Mascots, featuring fan-favorites like Stripes (Ticats), The Raptor (Toronto Raptors), Bruiser (Hamilton Bulldogs), Carlton The Bear (Toronto Maple Leafs) and many others, will compete in an eight-on-eight football game for everyone in the stands. Back by popular demand, be sure not to miss Pennsylvania's award-winning Selinsgrove Marching Band, who will return to Ivor Wynne Stadium.

Fans are encouraged to stick around after the game for a full team autograph session, where all Ticats players will be on the turf to interact with fans and sign autographs.

All of the action gets underway when the gates open at 2:30 p.m. for all the pre-game festivities. The revamped Pepsi Pre-Game Area and Carling Zone will host live bands and interactive games and contests for fans to take in prior to the game. Kickoff goes at 4:00 p.m.

For tickets and information, fans can log on to www.ticats.ca or call 905-547-CATS.
