CRESTWOOD, IL - Windy City 1B Ben Diggins drew a bases loaded walk off of River City closer Pat Evers to give the ThunderBolts a 4-3 win over River City on Friday night.

The ThunderBolts (10-18) rallied from a 3-2 deficit in the ninth for their first walk off win of 2006. SS Scott Vetter had an RBI single to score RF Nick Ewen to tie the game at three, and then Diggins' walk plated Vetter for the win.

Bolt reliever Noah Russo (1-1) was the winner after throwing 1.2 innings and allowing an unearned run on two walks and two strikeouts. Evers was the loser after throwing two-thirds of an inning and giving up two runs, one earned on two hits with two walks and a strikeout.

The Bolts scored in the first on an RBI fielder's choice by Diggins that scored 2B Clemente Bonilla. The Bolts scored again in the eighth when DH Nick Klusaw drove in pinch runner Anthony Seratelli.

The scoring for River City began in the fourth when a run came home on a sacrifice fly by 3B Eddie Guessford to plate DH Eddie Kim. A run came home on a wild pitch in the eighth to give the Rascals a 2-1 lead. After the Bolts tied the game in the bottom of the eighth, a run came across in the ninth on an error by Seratelli. The two in the bottom of the ninth won it for the ThunderBolts.

Game two of the three game series is tomorrow. Windy City sends newly acquired RHP Guadalupe Trevino against RHP Mike Renery (0-3, 5.08) for River City. First pitch is 6:05.
