
ThunderBolts sweep Mavericks

Windy City ThunderBolts News Release
In the final game of their six-game home stand, the Windy City ThunderBolts completed the three game sweep of the Mid-Missouri Mavericks today, winning 4-1. The ThunderBolts started out strong, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, 1 run in the bottom of the 2nd, and scoring the final run in the bottom of the 5th. In the meantime, ThunderBolts starting pitcher Chris Reilly held the Mavericks to just two hits and one run in 6 innings of work, while striking out 6 and earning the win in his first start of the season. The Mavericks starting pitcher Brian Dorsey was roughed up early and often and was relieved after just 1 1/3 innings of work, giving up 3 runs and 4 hits, and received the loss in his first start of the season. The ThunderBolts begin a road-trip with a three-game stand against the Gateway Grizzlies, and then travel on to Rockford for a three-game series against the Rockford Riverhawks starting Sunday.
