Evansville Otters News Release
WASHINGTON, PA â Sean Flynn hit his first professional homerun and the Otters got a complete game shutout baseball from Grant Williams as the Otters topped the Washington Wild Things 5-0.
The Otters got on the board in the top of the second when Jonathan Ramirez followed up three singles with a bases loaded walk.
The Otters made their biggest dent in the scoreboard in the fourth inning. After Terrence McClain singled to leadoff the inning, Sean Flynn belted his first professional homer, a towering drive over the centerfield wall to give Evansville a 3-0 lead. The homer is believed to be the longest in the two-plus year history of Falconi Field.
Following Flynn, Jonathan Ramirez doubled down the left field line and was driven in by Denver Stuckey to give Evansville a 4-0 lead. The Otters would tack on a run in the seventh to make the score 5-0.
Williams was the other story for the Otters as he pitched a complete game two-hitter allowing four walks and striking out seven.
The Otters now travel to Richmond for a three game set with the Roosters. Heath Heiberger takes the hill for Evansville in Thursday's game against Curtis Moenter for Richmond.
