ThunderBolts Release 2007 Season Schedule

Crestwood, IL - The Windy City ThunderBolts have announced the release of the team's 2007 season schedule. The ThunderBolts begin their fourth season of Frontier League baseball at home against the Rockford RiverHawks on May 23, 2007. Opening Night at Hawk Ford Field will feature a special postgame fireworks display.

By popular demand, regular postgame fireworks shows have been moved back to Saturday nights for 2007. The ThunderBolts have eight Saturday home games and there will also be a special fireworks show on Wednesday, July 4. Miller Lite Thirsty Thursdays are back with $1.00 draft beer and fountain soda. There are eight Thursdays on the schedule.

ThunderBolts home games on Monday through Saturday will start at 7:05pm. The two exceptions are School Day on Tuesday, May 29 and the Big Splash Extravaganza on Wednesday, July 25. Both of those games will start at 11:00am. Sunday games will begin at 3:05pm, except for the August 5 game which will start at 6:05pm. The Frontier League has added two expansion teams and switched to a three division format for the upcoming season. The Southern Illinois Miners are building a new stadium in Marion, IL that will be ready for the season in May. The as-yet-unnamed Slippery Rock, PA franchise will play at Jack Critchfield Park on the campus of Slippery Rock University.

The ThunderBolts will compete in the new Central Division against the Rockford RiverHawks, Kalamazoo Kings, and Traverse City Beach Bums. The West Division is made up of the defending champion Evansville Otters, Gateway Grizzlies, River City Rascals, and Southern Illinois Miners. The East Division will feature the Chillicothe Paints, Florence Freedom, Washington Wild Things, and Slippery Rock. Teams will play their inter-divisional opponents 16 times and will play the teams in the other divisions six times. The ThunderBolts have 48 home games and 48 on the road.

The ThunderBolts are offering a Holiday Stocking Stuffer Special that is perfect for sports fans or company grab bags. The Stocking Stuffer Special costs just $28.00 and consists of a ThunderBolts logo baseball and four undated ticket vouchers that can be used for any 2007 home game.
