Thunderbirds Loan G Chris Driedger to Manchester Monarchs

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Springfield Thunderbirds announced today that they have loaned goaltender Chris Driedger to the Manchester Monarchs of the ECHL. This transaction comes on the heels of the Florida Panthers returning Michael Hutchinson to the Thunderbirds on Monday.

Driedger, 24, made four starts with the Thunderbirds in the season's first 10 games, going 2-1-1 with a .906 save percentage and 3.09 goals against average. He made a season-high 38 saves to pick up his first win as a Thunderbird on Oct. 20 at Laval. He made 28 or more saves in all four of his starts.

The Thunderbirds continue a three-game road trip on Friday, Nov. 9 when they visit the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop at the PPL Center. Springfield then travels to take on the Hershey Bears for a 7:00 p.m. start on Saturday, Nov. 10, their first matchup with the Bears this season.
