Wichita Thunder News Release

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder today traded forward John Kozoriz (kuh-ZER-iss) to the Odessa Jackalopes in exchange for future considerations and activated rookie Tyler Liebel (LEE-bull) from the 45-day injured reserve.

Kozoriz, who joined the Thunder in early November, picked up two goals and five points in 14 games. He will join the Jackalopes in time for their games this weekend.

Liebel had an assist and 11 penalty minutes in four games before suffering an injury on October 30th in Lubbock. He has missed the last 17 Thunder games. Prior to joining the Thunder, Liebel played four seasons at NCAA powerhouse Colorado College.

Liebel will return to action on Thursday when the Thunder battle the Topeka Tarantulas at Landon Arena. The Thunder will return home to host the Tarantulas on Friday and the Colorado Eagles on Saturday. Both games will face-off at 7:30 p.m. Thursday's game at Topeka can be seen on Cox Cable Channel 22 Saturday at 12:30 p.m., following the Wichita Thunder Coach's Show. Friday's game can be seen next Saturday, also at 12:30 p.m.

At 14-6-1, the Thunder currently holds the best record in the CHL and a three-point edge over both Colorado and New Mexico. With wins in all three games this week, Derek Laxdal will earn the right to coach the Northern Conference in the 2004-05 CHL All-Star Game on January 12th in Laredo, Texas.

Corporate packages and season tickets for the 2004-05 campaign are also still on sale. To order your tickets or for more information, call the Thunder office at 264-GOAL or visit our website at www.wichitathunder.com.
