HARRISBURG, Pa. - A closely-contested game in the early innings turned into a blowout late, as the Thunder fell to the Harrisburg Senators, 9-1, on Saturday night at FNB Field.

Making a spot start for the Thunder (65-52), right-hander Jordan Foley allowed three runs on seven hits across three innings and was charged with the loss, as Trenton pitching went on to allowed 14 hits in the game, matching a season-high.

After the Senators (60-56) plated the game's first run on a Drew Ward RBI-single in the bottom of the second inning, Trey Amburgey stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the top of the third and delivered a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Ryan Lidge and tying the game at 1-1.

But in the bottom half, Foley allowed an abundance of hard contact. After yielding a leadoff double to Osvaldo Abreu, he induced two hard-hit flyouts to center field. Dan Gamache then put Harrisburg back in the lead with a single to plate Abreu. After a wild pitch and an infield single, a base hit by Alec Keller extended the Senators' lead to 3-1.

Thunder lefty James Reeves allowed one run in relief in the fourth inning, and Harrisburg later touched right-hander Brady Lail for four runs in the seventh.

Senators starter Sterling Sharp earned the win by limiting the Thunder to one run on three hits over six innings, despite walking four batters and surpassing 100 pitches. Relievers James Bourque and Jordan Mills allowed just one hit combined over the final three innings.

Trenton placed just three runners on base after the third inning, and had 12 of their final 13 Thunder batters retired.

Your Thunder close the series on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. against the Senators. RHP Adonis Rosa (0-1, 5.40) will start for the Thunder, and LHP Logan Darnell (7-5, 4.70) will go for Harrisburg. Pre-game coverage will begin at 1:15 p.m. on 920 AM The Jersey, or online at TrentonThunder.com/Broadcast.
