
Thunder Open Camp Monday

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder will begin their 12th season in the Central Hockey League, when training camp opens on Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Ice Sports Wichita.
The Thunder will hold two-a-days during the first week of camp, skating from 9:00-10:15 a.m. and from 3:00-4:15 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The Thunder will hold one-hour pre-game skates, Thursday through Saturday, before playing exhibition games versus the Oklahoma City Blazers and Tulsa Oilers.
Wichita will host the Blazers on Thursday, October 9th and the Oilers on Saturday, October 11th. Both games will face-off at 7:00 p.m. at ice Sports Wichita. Tickets for both games are $10 each for general admission and will go on sale the morning of the game. Only cash and checks will be accepted for these two matches.
The Thunder also have several player appearances coming up including the annual night at 81 Speedway this Saturday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. To make your reservations, call Warren Hardy at 755-1781. Thunder players will also be signing autographs at Dick's Sporting Goods West on Sunday, October 12th at 1:00 p.m.
The Thunder golf tournament will be held on Monday, October 13th at Terradyne Country Club, beginning at Noon. The cost is $375 per team. To sign up, call Matt at the Thunder office. The annual season ticketholder preseason party will be held on Tuesday, October 14th at Ice Sports Wichita from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Individual tickets for all Thunder home games will go on sale tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. Tickets this season range from $9 to $16 each.
Wichita will begin the regular season with a pair of home games on Friday, October 17th versus the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs and Saturday, October 18th versus the Tulsa Oilers. Both games will face-off at 7:30 p.m.
