
Thunder fall in eleven innings, 5-4

Trenton Thunder News Release
(Manchester, NH)- Ryan Klosterman scored from second base on a passed ball in the 11th Inning to help New Hampshire to a 5-4 win over the Thunder on Sunday afternoon.
New Hampshire (45-56) trailed entering the 9th Inning by a 4-1 score before DH Chip Cannon hit a three-run homer off Thunder reliever Justin Pope to tie the game at 4-4. It was Pope's third blown save of the season. The Fisher Cats loaded the bases in the 10th Inning, but Pope got out of the jam. In the 11th Inning, Klosterman lead off with a walk and moved to 2nd Base on a sacrifice bunt. With 1B Tim Olson at the plate, a Scott Patterson pitch went off the glove of Thunder C Jason Brown and allowed Klosterman to score the winning run. Patterson (0-1) took the loss with Fisher Cats reliever Rodney Ormond (3-4) getting the win with two scoreless innings.
Trenton (54-46) jumped ahead 1-0 in the 2nd Inning as Duncan hit the first pitch of the inning, by New Hamsphire starter Ricky Romero over the right field wall for a homer. New Hampshire tied the game off Matt Childers in the 3rd Inning on a two-out double by C Curtis Thigpen. The Thunder went ahead 2-1 in the 5th Inning as 2B Gabe Lopez singled home Brown. Duncan followed with his 2nd homer of the day off Romero in the 6th Inning for a 3-1 lead. An RBI double by Brown in the 7th Inning gave the Thunder a 4-1 lead.
The Thunder begin a three-game series in New Britain on Monday at 7:05 PM. Jason Jones (1-1, 4.50) starts for Trenton against New Britain's Errol Simonitsch (7-10, 3.65).
