Wichita, KS - In a tight affair at INTRUST Bank Arena on Saturday night, Wichita (6-5-2) dropped their first shootout on home-ice to the Arizona Sundogs (7-4-3) by the final of 2-1. Neil Trimm scored the Thunder's only goal on the night, stopping a streak of five games in which the Thunder gave up the first goal. Wichita has a few days off before beginning a busy holiday week with four games in five days.

Wichita grabbed a 1-0 lead with 13 minutes remaining in the opening period. Ian Lowe beat the defender to a loose puck behind the Sundogs goal line, popped it to the front of the net and Trimm scored his eighth goal of the season.

Arizona got the equalizer in the second period at the 11 minute mark as Jake Hauswirth caught a long outlet pass up the right wing and beat Kevin Regan to tie the game at one.

The two teams battled through a scoreless third period and were unable to end the game in overtime. Wichita benefited from a one-minute power play in overtime when Ian Lowe got tripped in the slot, but couldn't put the game-winner past former Thunder goalie Adam Russo.

Wichita's only goal in the shootout came from Matt Summers in round two while Arizona's Mikael Bedard scored in round three and Derek LeBlanc scored in round six to give the Sundogs a 2-1 win.

Wichita went 0-for-5 on the power play while the Mallards were 0-for-2. The Thunder's home record drops to 4-3-1 on the season and 0-2 in shootout situations.

Wichita will begin a busy stretch on Tuesday, November 20th on the road against the Missouri Mavericks at 7:05 p.m. The Thunder return home for three-straight beginning Wednesday, November 21st against the Bloomington Blaze.

The Thunder's official watch-party for the game on Tuesday night will take place at Pucks Sports Bar inside the Wichita Ice Center. For tickets to the game on Wednesday and the rest of the week, call 755-SEAT, visit the INTRUST Bank Arena box office or online at www.selectaseat.com.
