Rush Drop 2-1 Decision to Brahmas on Law Enforcement Appreciation Night

(Rapid City, SD) - On Friday night, the Rapid City Rush celebrated 'Law Enforcement Appreciation Night' at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The Rush fell short in a defensive battle, losing to the Fort Worth Brahmas by a 2-1 score. The squad now hits the road for two games, beginning tomorrow at 6:05pm MST against the Missouri Mavericks. The game can be heard live on 100.3fm the FOX or foxradio.com

Midway through the first period, Thomas Klempa broke into the Rush zone from the left-wing side, before bouncing a shot home for a 1-0 Brahma lead.

The one-goal advantage lasted until the 12:53 mark of the final frame when Phil Fox lifted a shot home from the top of the crease, doubling the lead. The Rush finally got on the board when Rusty Masters capitalized on a breakaway chance with less than two minutes left in regulation, but the goal was not enough, as the Brahmas earned the 2-1 win.
