WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder lost 9-2 to the Mississippi Riverkings at the DeSoto Civic Center on Tuesday night. Kings' veteran Darrell Stoddard scored four goals to lead Mississippi's offense. Matt Pierce scored two goals, while Dallas Steward and Bobby Chaumont each chipped in three assists.

Jason Duda and Greg Cassista accounted for the Thunder's goals. Krister Toews absorbed the loss, saving 34 of 43 shots. Kevin Beech earned the win saving 26 of 28. Wichita allowed three power play goals, marking the first time since December 12th that Wichita allowed more than one power play goal in a game. The Thunder went 0 for 5 on the man advantage. The Thunder was outshot 43 to 28.

The Thunder returns home on Friday night when they take on the Rocky Mountain Rage at 7:05 p.m. at the Kansas Coliseum. The first 1,000 fans will receive a set of 2008-09 Thunder trading cards, courtesy of Case and Associates. Keystone Light cans will also be on sale for just $1.50.
