(Norwich, CT)- The game between the Trenton Thunder and the Connecticut Defenders scheduled for Thursday night has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as play of a doubleheader on Saturday, April 14th beginning at 2:05 PM.
The Thunder (5-1) carry a five-game win streak into their first roadtrip of the season. Trenton is coming off a three-game sweep of Harrisburg, which included a 2-0 shutout on Wednesday at Waterfront Park. Starter Cahse Wright combined with reliever Jeff Kennard on a two-hit shutout. Wright allowed two baserunners over seven shutout innings with 10 strikeouts. The Thunder pitching staff has recorded at least 10 strikeouts in each of their first six games of the season.
Connecticut (2-1) is in 2nd place in the Northern Division. They recently took two of three games from New Hampshire after being snowed out in Portland for the first four days of the season.
In Friday's game, the Thunder will have Jeff Marquez (1-0, 3.60) pitching against Connecticut's Ben Cox (0-0, 0.00).Game time is 6:35 PM.
