(Trenton, NJ) - Your Trenton Thunder found a way to salvage the final game of the series against the State College Spikes, winning 13-6 on Thursday Night at Trenton Thunder Ballpark. The Thunder jumped out to an early 4-0 advantage in the second inning.
Following back-to-back walks from Ramon Jimenez and Anthony Abbatine, Dan Covino delivered the first run of the game on a single to center field that plated Jimenez. After another walk to Max Giordano to load the bases, Angel Mendoza extended the lead on a sacrifice fly. Kolby Johnson would follow with a 2-RBI single to cap off the four-run inning.
The Spikes didn't go away in this one however, after they got one back in their half of the third, they would eventually take the lead in the fourth. With one already across in the inning, Josh Leslie came up with the bases loaded and cleared them with a 3-RBI double to make it 5-4 State College.
