
Thunder Acquires Belanger

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder has acquired forward Marc Belanger from the Texas Brahmas in exchange for future considerations. A 25-year old rookie from Nanaimo, British Columbia, Belanger scored 10 goals while assisting on six more in 43 games with the Brahmas this season. Belanger scored his first professional goals when he notched a pair against the Mississippi Riverkings on October 18th. On December 20th at Arizona, Belanger picked up four points, scoring a goal and three assists. Belanger has also had a pair of three-game point streaks this season.
Belanger played collegiately at St. Norbert College for four seasons from 2004-2008. During his time at St. Norbert, Belanger totaled 132 points in 119 games. He played two seasons of Junior Hockey with the BCHL's Penticton Panthers from 2002-2004.
The Thunder is also expected to sign forward Ben Boudreau within the next few days. Both Belanger and Boudreau are expected to join the Thunder during this weekend's games.
Wichita next plays Friday night when they host the Rocky Mountain Rage at 7:05 p.m.
