
Threshers Rout Marauders in Largest Win of the Year

BRADENTON, FL - Felix Reyes capped off a four-run third inning with a three-run blast into left field as the Clearwater Threshers (49-22, 5-1) racked up 14 hits in a 14-1 blowout of the Bradenton Marauders (38-33, 3-3) on Friday night at LECOM Park. The Threshers look to clinch their third series win against the Marauders in a Saturday night tilt in Bradenton.
Emaarion Boyd drew a walk off Marauders starter Luis Peralta to lead off the third inning and stole second base. Otto Kemp drove him home with a single to open the scoring for the Threshers. Ryan Leitch was hit by a pitch before Reyes cleared the bases with a three-run home run that made it 4-0.
Ryan Leitch led off the fifth with a walk and moved to third on a double by Reyes. Cade Fergus plated both runs with a triple to right off Marauders reliever Owen Sharts that made it 6-0 Threshers. Troy Schreffler drove in Fergus on a single and advanced to second on a single by Boyd. Ricardo Rosario drove in his fifth run of the series with a single off newly entered reliever Geronimo Franzua that scored Schreffler from second.
With two outs, Kemp lined a pitch to right that was dropped by Deivis Nadal. Kemp moved to third and two runs scored to bring the Threshers into double digits. Ryan Leitch drove Kemp in on a single that extended the lead to 11-0.
Termarr Johnson drove in a run for the Marauders in the sixth to make it 11-1. Fergus led off the ninth with a single off Marauders reliever Yoldin De La Paz. Matt Alifano reached on an error that moved Fergus to third before Boyd walked to load the bases. Rosario drove in Fergus with a single, and Kemp followed him with another single that drove in Alifano. With two outs in the inning, Reyes drove in Boyd on a single to make it 14-1 Threshers, which remained the final score after a 1-2-3 ninth.
Jean Cabrera (3-4) earned the win in 5.0 shutout innings, allowing two hits, two walks and striking out five. Konnor Ash allowed one run on two hits in 2.0 innings, walking one and striking out four. Jonh Henriquez retired all six batters he faced with four strikeouts in the final 2.0 frames.
Reyes tied his career-high with four RBIs for the second time this season...He set a career-high with three hits...Reyes has homered in each of the past three series...Rosario posted his third-consecutive two-RBI game...The Threshers 13-run lead was their largest margin of victory this season...Their seven-run fifth was the third time they have scored seven runs in an inning this season...Ash set a season-high with four strikeouts...The Threshers continue their road series against the Bradenton Marauders (Single-A, Pittsburgh Pirates) on Saturday, July 1st...
