Bradenton Marauders News Release
Bradenton, Fla.--- The Marauders (3-3, 38-33) and the Clearwater Threshers (5-1, 49-22) met for the third game of a six-game series at LECOM park on a hot and humid Friday night on the corner of 9th and 17th. Clearwater got away to a big early lead and held it to the finish in an emphatic 14-1 win.
The Threshers claimed the lead in the top half of the third inning when they plated four off Marauders starter Luis Peralta on a three-run bomb from Felix Reyes and RBI single from Otto Kemp. Peralta lasted only 2.2 innings in the outing and was handed the loss at night's end.
Clearwater laid it on the Young Bucs in the top of the fifth inning, where they scored seven runs on six hits with one error charged against Bradenton. All but one Threshers hitter recorded a base hit in the game as the visitors finished with 14 knocks across their nine innings at the plate, with more than half the team recording six plate appearances.
The only RBI hit of the night for the Marauders came in the bottom of the six when Termarr Johnson singled on a sharp line drive to right field to cut the deficit to 11-1. Bradenton was held to just seven base runners in the game.
The Threshers added three more runs in the top of the ninth and cruised to a 14-1 triumph.
Game four is set for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday for "Decade's Night" at LECOM Park.
