
Three Run Eighth Lifts Bats Past PawSox

Louisville defeated the PawSox 7-5 at McCoy Stadium tonight after a 3 run eighth inning that put them in the lead. The Bats produced 16 hits while the PawSox only had 7.
Mauro Gomez hit a 3-run homerun (16) in the first inning and gave the PawSox the lead 3-0. The Bats scored two runs the next inning on a homerun by Paul Janish and a RBI double by Daryl Jones. Pedro Ciriaco led off the sixth inning with a single to left, stole second (12), advanced to third on a balk, and scored on a RBI sacrifice fly to center by Ryan Lavarnway that tied the game at 4-4. With the sac fly, Lavarnway has 17 RBI's this month.
With two runners on base in the bottom of the eighth, Lars Anderson hit his 15th double of the season and scored Ciriaco but Lavarnway was thrown out at the plate. Gomez led off the ninth with a double (22) to center and J. C. Linares was hit by a pitch to put two runners on base with no one out, but Josh Kroeger struck out and Tony Thomas grounded into a double play to end the game.
Ciriaco led the PawSox with three hits and Gomez had two. Both Anderson and Lavarnway had one hit each. Janish and Cody Puckett led Louisville with three hits each while Kristopher Negron, Felix Perez, Mike Constanzo and Daryl Jones each had two hits.
Jeremy Kehrt got the start for the PawSox as Aaron Cook was a late scratch from the game. Will Latimer (0-1) took the loss for the PawSox. He gave up six hits and two earned runs in three innings. Josh Judy (2-2) got the win as he gave up two hits and one run in an inning and two batters.
This is the PawSox 6th straight loss. The series continues at McCoy Stadium tomorrow with a game at 1:05 pm. Doug Mathis (5-4, 4.01) faces Ryan Feierabend (0-1, 6.91).
