Three RiverHawks named to all-star team

LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks' Joe Anthonsen, Garrett Bauer and Jason James are headed to the Frontier League All-Star Game.

Thursday, the league announced its rosters for the game, scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CDT July 16 at Traverse City. It is the second appearance for each of the three players. Bauer was the West All-Star starting pitcher in 2006. Anthonsen was on the same team as a rookie. James was an all-star last season, his first full year as a professional.

Bauer is 4-2 with a 3.17 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 54 innings. Anthonsen is batting .327, tied for sixth in the league, with two home runs and 23 RBI. James is hitting .349, third in the FL, with six homers and 37 RBI, tied for second in the league.

Votes came from league managers, coaches, general managers, radio broadcasters and local media.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer.
